Defend The Kurdish Community Centre
Around 500 Kurdish protesters and local people including trade unionists marched from Turnpike Lane to the Kurdish Cultural Centre on Wednesday 3rd December 2024.
The KCC remains occupied by Police following a raid on the centre last Wednesday. Protesters condemned the police for implying that Kurds were terrorists and called out the Turkish president Erdoğan for being complicit in the raids alongside the British State.
Armed police had raided the centre. Several prominent Kurdish activists have been detained.
There is a permanent presence by activists outside the centre in Portland Gardens in Haringay and a number of people have gone on hunger strike.
